Fuchsia Hedges are a hardy, fast-growing hedge easily recognised by their colourful stems. Used mostly for under-planting in groups of trees, or in shaded areas with some shelter.

Fuchsia hedges can be planted in most soil types, planting should be done 3 to every yard. This is a very hardy hedge, it thrives in damp shady conditions. Fuchsia hedges are also a great addition to native hedgerows and are good for the environment. It attracts an abundance of wildlife such as bees and butterflies.

This hedge grows between 18 inches and 24 inches a year.

• Maintenance of Fuchsia Hedges?

This hedge is suitable all year round and has various characteristics that will bring added interest to your garden.  It has a quick growth rate and can reach 24 inches a year so don’t worry about cutting too much. The best time to prune a fuchsia hedge is when the hedge is dormant during the winter or early spring before new leaves appear. It is recommended that you cut the hedge back around 2 – 4 inches above ground level.
